Configuring Internet News for Newsgroups

If you have run Internet News before...

This page will help you configure Internet News for CyberXpress if you're switching providers, or if you just didn't get the wizard when you started the program for the first time. If you got the Wizard or this is the first time installing Internet News, Click Here.

Step 1 - Click on the News menu and choose Options...

Step 4 - Subscribe to a few Newsgroups

Once you've finished, Internet News will ask if you would like to subscribe to newsgroups from "news.cxp.com." Click yes to get the Newsgroup windows, where you can browse through all the discussion groups available. Use the Subscribe button (or a double-click) to add Newsgroups which you are interested in. Subscribing to a Newsgroup doesn't mean you pay anything. It only means that of the thousand of groups available, you wish to keep track of (i.e. subscribe to) a select few.

Press F1 or use the Help menu to get further help on using Microsoft Internet News.

If you have any problems after doing/trying this configuration, feel free to contact technical support at (904) 354-3992. Questions regarding the use of Microsoft Internet News beyond subscribing to newsgroups is beyond the scope of this document, and the CyberXpress Technical Support staff will try to help if we have time. E-mail Support@cxp.com for any questions you have. Please consult your manuals and help files if you need other questions answered.
