Configuring Internet Mail for E-mail


Setting Up Internet Mail

If you have run Internet Mail before, or if it was previously installed on your system, then click here.

To run Internet Mail for the first time click the Start button, Programs and choose "Internet Mail" OR from the Internet Explorer click the "Mail" button and choose "Read Mail". This will start the Internet Mail Configuration wizard.

  1. "Internet Mail needs to gather some information before it can send and receive your email... Click "Next"
  2. Fill in the blanks-

    Name:
    Email Address:
    Your Real Name or an Alias
    username@cxp.com
    Click "Next"...
  3. Fill in the blanks-
    Incoming Mail (POP3) Server:
    Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server:
    pop.cxp.com
    smtp.cxp.com

    ...Click "Next"

  4. Fill in the blanks-
    Email Account:
    Password:
    username
    password (NOT your override password)

    ... Click "Next"

  5. "When connecting to your POP3 and SMTP servers, you can connect in several different ways. Please specify the type of connection that you will use.

    Select "I use a modem to access my e-mail"

    In the blank where it says "Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection" choose CyberXpress (click the down-arrow button). If you don't find any items on that list, then Click Here.

    Click next, then click "Finish". You are now ready to send and receive your e-mail. Check your e-mail by clicking on the "Send and Receive" button. Write new messages by clicking the "New Message" button.

    Press F1 or use the Help menu to get further help on using Internet Mail.
